Minor Irrigation Census

The Census of Minor Irrigation Schemes is being conducted once in five years throughout the country to provide detailed data about the Minor Irrigation Schemes under the central scheme 'Rationalization of Minor Irrigation Statistics (RMIS)'. The 5th Census of Minor Irrigation Schemes provide detailed information upto village/ block levels on number and type of MI Schemes in use and not in use with reasons thereof, their created potential, extent of utilisation, cost of construction of schemes, their financing, share of public sector, and that of individual farmers in MI Schemes as well as loss of potential due to under-utilization etc. The distribution of MI Schemes across tribal and other regions, among social classes of farmers, by size of holding, and by season and crops are also provided in the following report.
